Thanksgiving and Christmas tree shopping

We had a great Thanksgiving. This year it was at our house, well at least one feast. First we started with lunch at Ryan's Aunt Dona's house. We had to talk and eat quick because we had to come back home and tend to our meat. We were serving the turkey, ham, and Ryan's special rotisserie ribs. Our guests included Ryan's parents, my parents, Ryan's grandparents, his Uncle and family, and Jonathan and Stacy with her parents. It was such a fun evening and I couldn't have dreamed of a smoother dinner service. All the food was wonderful. I got a couple of pictures of us prepping for the night, but was too preoccupied to take pictures during the evening. Ryan's cousin Joe took some and I hope that he will post them to his facebook. It was also really nice to finally not have to travel anywhere for Thanksgiving and get to sleep in my own bed!

The day started out in the lower 70s and ended in the upper 30s! Ryan smoked the turkey and cooked the ribs using the rotisserie on the grill!

The next day we went with Jonathan and Stacy to pick out our Christmas trees at Danville Farms. It was finally cool enough to bundle up and put us in the mood for Christmas tree shopping. We took a hay ride which was the highlight of the day for Brooke due to her latest fascination with tractors!

After we cut and hauled our tree to the road, we headed back for some peanuts and cookies while we were waiting for our trees to be shaken and baled. Jonathan and Stacy found their tree and we searched for ours, but it was no where to be found. We thought someone had driven off with our tree. So, after talking to the owner we decided to go back and cut down another tree. It didn't take us long, but we found another tree. When we went back to the front, they had found our original tree! Who knows, why it wasn't baled at the same time as Jonathan and Stacy's, but we were glad to get the first one we picked out.

It didn't deter her one bit that it was 37 degrees outside. She loved riding around!

I don't think that she is going to give it back.....we may have to buy baby Jason another one.....
